Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 3) Distribution and abundance : Local Habitats : Woodland with little undergrowth, rocks, old walls, and less often meadows Flight Period : Single-brooded, late May to June Larval foodplants : Lichen and decaying plants, also other dead insects Final Catalogue : Common at Aldeburgh on 15 July 1892, pupal-cases at Thorp, and imago taken at Southwold (Ctw, EMM. xxvii, 50); cases often observed in Bentley Woods (Mly); one bred at Ampton in 1911 (Nurse).
