Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 3)

Distribution and abundance : Widespread and abundant

Flight Period : Single-brooded; June to mid-September

Larval foodplants : Hawthorn (Crataegus), cherry (Prunus), apple (Malus), birch (Betula), Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia) and other Rosaceae, including Cotoneaster spp.

Morley's Final Catalogue : Bentley Woods in Feb.-March, and Barren Heath in Ipswich during November (Mly); Ipswich and Lackford, bred (Whit.); common among crab-apples at Glemham Magna (Bloomf.); Southwold in 1897, and Flixton (Ctw); Gorleston in October.

Wingspan details : Wingspan 8-9mm
