Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 3)

Distribution and abundance : Locally widespread

Habitats : Fens, grassland, scrub, woodland and other rough areas

Flight Period : Single-brooded; June to mid-August

Larval foodplants : In the roots of Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) or Southernwood (Artemisia abrotanum)

Morley's Final Catalogue : This handsome species, on Artemisia vulgaris, is frequent in our east. Ipswich (Garrett, Ml), at light in 1901 (Pyett); Hemley in 1902, and bred at Waldringfield (Wlr); Butley in 1931-5 (Whit), Aldeburgh (Hele, Ctw), Leiston (Grey), Reydon in 1935 (Baker), Beccles (Crf); at light in Gorleston on 4 August 1933 (Moore), but not to be found among mugwort then.
