Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 3) Distribution and abundance : Scarce Habitats : Woodland, hedgerows, heathland and other open habitats Flight Period : Double-brooded; July and September to May, hibernating over the winter Larval foodplants : various plants, including Hedge Woundwort (Stachys sylvatica), restharrows (Ononis), mints (Mentha), goosefoot (Chenopodium), heathers (Calluna and Erica) and cranesbill (Geranium), on the flowers and seed-heads Records : Dunwich (SMG, 12.viii.2000), Long Melford (D Underwood 4.iv.2002), Landguard (N Odin & M Marsh, 9.vii.2003), Great Cornard (S Rad 17.ix.2003 & 21.viii.2004), Bawdsey (M Deans 28.iii.2004), Eye (P Kitchener 2.ix.2004) Final Catalogue : Local by the sea and in the Breck; probably common on our coast.
