Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 1) Distribution and abundance : Widespread and common Habitats : Heathland, woodland, scrub, fens Flight Period : Double-brooded; mid-April to mid-June and late June tolate August Larval foodplants : Sallows, willows, Aspen, poplars, cultivated varities of poplar Morley's Final Catalogue : Not very frequent. Bred at Stowmarket in 1854 (C) ; occasionally at both Playford and Brandeston (Gr: Nat. 1858, 111). Ipswich, Leiston, Lound; Needham and Tuddenham: before 1890. At light at Copdock in May 1896 (Hkg) and at elecric light in Ipswich (Mly, Baylis, Pyett); Martlesham (D), recently at Blythburgh (Mly), Beccles and Gorleston (Mr), Hopton. Wingspan details : Forewing 17-24mm, Wingspan 42-52mm Identification
