Local Status : Resident (SMP Status 1) Distribution and abundance : Local, not uncommon where it occurs Habitats : Broad-leaved woodland, heathland with scrub oaks Flight Period : Single-brooded; April to mid-June Larval foodplants : Pedunculate Oak and Sessile Oak Morley's Final Catalogue : Eggs and pupae tolerably plentiful at Playford (Gr, Nat. viii, 131; Ent. Wk. Int. ii, 1857, 11); Woolverstone (lib. cit. iii, 1857, 22); larvae and pupae found sparingly round Stowmarket (B & C 1858). Nayland; Copdock at light, and eggs in Bentley Woods (Hkg); on oak-trunks there in mid-May 1925 (Mly). Bramford and Helmingham in 1900 (Sparke); Needham (L); Henham, Sotterly; Flixton and Worlingham.
