Habitats :
Damp woodland, particularly with old stands of birch, wooded heathland, gardens
Flight Period :
Single-brooded; June to July with occasional partial second brood in September
Larval foodplants :
fungi growing on rotting trees, particularly birches and pines. The more common types of fungi include Coriolus versicolor, Hirschioporus abietina, Piptoporus betulinus

Could potentially be resident, given its habitat requirements but there is no current proof of this

Noted by Mr. Morley as very rare. The Suffolk specimen was taken at Walberswick light by Professor J. V. Dacie on August 2nd, 1959 (Trans. S.N.S., Vol. XI, pt. III, p. 256).
